The Santa Barbara Rose Society was established
in 1959. It is a non-profit society, devoted to
sharing knowledge about roses, rose culture and
the pleasure of rose gardening. You will find
information here about all aspects of roses, the
national flower of the United States.Monthly Meetings
Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month (except July, August and December). The refreshments and rose display begin at 7:00 PM. The meeting and program begin at 7:30 PM. Meetings are held in the Louise Lowry Davis Center, 1232 De La Vina, at the corner of De La Vina and Victoria Streets in Santa Barbara. (A large parking lot is accessed from Victoria Street.) The 101 freeway exit is at Carrillo Street. Our monthly meetings feature knowledgeable guest speakers on rose-related topics. The meetings are free and open to the public. Visitors are always welcome!
The Newsletter
There is a monthly (except for August and December) newsletter. It contains information about upcoming meetings, monthly growing tips, and other articles about roses. To see articles from the current newsletter click here.
Consulting Rosarians
Experienced, trained and knowledgeable rose growers are selected by the American Rose Society as consulting rosarians. They are happy to help you and to answer your questions. To see the list of consulting rosarians click here.
The A.C. Postel Rose Garden
The A.C. Postel Rose Garden was established in 1955 and is a city park. The Santa Barbara Rose Society members help maintain it. To learn more about the city's rose garden click here.
